A narrative painting is a painting that tells a story. It often depicts images from mythology, history, literature, or everyday life. The works might be small canvases or large wall-size images, and these are the narratives from the mind of Vincent Fantauzzo.

Following a residency in Hong Kong, Vincent completed a large body of work based on the 1960 film, The World of Suzie Wong. In the story an artist travels to Hong Kong, where he falls in love with a prostitute. The relationship becomes strained, and ends tragically. For Vincent, the film incorporated both his own journey of self-discovery as an artist, but also depicted the charm of Hong Kong in the 1950s.
